        Voices in Harmony Choirs
Voices In Harmony was founded by Camille Curtis-Saucier is 2001. The first two years featured a Girls Choir and Women’s Choir with performances at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Saco and Funtown. As a private vocal instructor, Curtis saw a need to provide her students with the opportunity to sing in harmony and learn varied styles of choral music. Within two weeks, over 20 girls registered and 30 women wanted to participate also, creating an additional Women's Choir. The first concert in August 2001, featured about 50 singers and then grew to about 65 in 2002 with standing room only audience.

In it’s third year, Curtis added the Boy’s & Men’s Chorus. This intergenerational male choir is one of the few in the U.S.A. With combined choirs exceeding 85, Voices In Harmony moved performances to Saco’s newest auditorium, Garland Auditorium at Thornton Academy. The first live recording was made with proceeds supporting the Saco UU Church Music Choir.

Voices in Harmony Summer 2005 - "Songs of Family, The Earth, Our Home"
The 5th Anniversary Concert theme was 'Songs of Family, The Earth, Our Home' and featured songs of Joanne Hammill. A july singing workshop helped our singers feel comfortable singing together and performing, while learning several of Hammill's rounds and community building compositions. Singer members grew to 160 singers and debuted two new choirs: The auditioned 'Saco Bay Jazz Vocal Ensemble' and for the wee ones: 'Little Voices Choir' for ages 5-8. The Lower Octave Men's Chorus converted to adults only, allowing boys with treble voices to sing in the Children's Choir of 50 singers.

Voices in Harmony Summer 2004 - "DREAMS"
From June through August, singers joined Saco based community choirs to participate in an intergenerational and multicultural singing event. Singers rehearsed under the direction of Camille Curtis, a music educator from the Saco area. The summer concert features a guest composer / conductor. In our 4th Season, we featured composer / guitarist Chris Eastburn and also a guest vocalist, Ginny Palmer on a few arrangements.

The 2003 ‘Rising In Song’ Concert featured NYC award -winning composer, Jim Papoulis’ newest choral works: ‘When I Close My Eyes’ and ‘Can You Hear?’. “Papoulis' compositions and orchestrations have brought a refreshing new spirit to popular music that might be called R&T - rhythm and thought.” (PAI Media) Papoulis donates his composer royalties to The Foundation for Small Voices of which his is the co-founder. www.soundsofabetterworld.com This invigorating performance was inspired by a workshop where the singers met the composer and learned his interpretation of his exciting music.
